The Mad Elephant on the street
In India, two elephants broke into a suburb of the city of Mysore, in the southern Indian state of Karnataka. They emerged from the woods and become like a mad destroy everything in its path. They attacked the livestock grazed the cars going by and tried to trample the people who stand in their way. Lionesses killed a crocodile
Three lionesses pounced on a crocodile in an extraordinary scene after the reptile tried to attack one of the pride’s cubs. The protective females instinctively leapt into action to fend off the aggressive predator. With organised precision, the lionesses surrounded the croc and launched a ferocious volley of blows.
During the encounter the crocodile managed to bite one of the big cats but was soon killed by the pride. The rare scenes were captured by Tony Goldman while on a safari trip to the Duba Plains, in Botswana, with his son. Tony, 58, a cardiologist, said: ‘The lionesses had just killed a buffalo and suddenly a crocodile ventured about 100 yards out of the water towards them to snack on the meat. This cute little primate hugs and grips on to your finger so tight that it pulls your heartstrings and you wish you could take it home with you. Finger monkeys are, as a matter of fact, pygmy marmosets. They are also known by the names ‘Pocket Monkey’ and ‘Tiny Lion’. These primates belong to the family Callitrichidae, species Cebuella and genus C. pygmaea. They are native to rain-forests of Brazil, Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador and Colombia.
